THE SCULPTURE PARK AT THE GERMAN WADDEN SEA
On the German North Sea island of Föhr, sculptures by the renowned sculptor Jörg Plickat are located directly at the Wadden Sea coast at Hedehusum. Surrounded by Bronze Age hill tombs, which are with its probably 7000-9000 years older than the pyramids, the sculpture park invites you to a year-round dialogue between the Wadden Sea landscape with its constantly changing play of light, and contemporary sculptures made of stone, bronze and Corten steel.
Enrich your stay on Föhr with this free and unique cultural experience. Come along with your friends, by bike or during your hike. The bus also stops at Hedehusum. Please park cars on the Poolstich road, bicycles at the entrance to the park. The park was set up in summer 2024 and will remain there for around two years.
The sculpture park is freely accessible all year round from the road “Weg an Wester Bergen”. The entrance to the park is 200 meters south of the gallery towards the beach.
Parallel to the exhibition in the sculpture park, the Hedehusum Gallery presents sculptural jewelry by Rotraut Fischer-Plickat as well as small sculptures and drawings by Jörg Plickat from July 14 to August 31, 2024. The gallery is open Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
